Well, here it is. My belly is growing and Emma is too. It is the neatest thing to think that she is thriving inside of me and doing well. I'm not going to lie, for the first 16 weeks of this pregnancy I was excited, terrified, and sometimes not happy about being pregnant. Not that I didn't love my baby, but it's hard to be happy when said baby makes you sick all the time and gives you acne like you never had before. But that phase passed and I couldn't more excited to me her mom!! Don't get me wrong, pregnancy is no walk in the park, but somehow these days it doesn't seem that bad. The all consuming rush of joy I get every time she kicks or rolls over makes the back pain worth it. Maybe this is what people mean when they say you forget how bad labor is once the baby is born because you're filled with too much love to remember the other stuff. We'll see how that actually plays out, but needless to say I love my little girl so much and can't wait to meet her!!!
I have determined to not buy a lot of things for her yet, like clothes and accessories, etc. I knew I would be getting hand-me-downs from my two amazing sisters who are both kind enough to part with their adorable baby girl items, so it didn't make sense to buy new things. However, as a present for myself, I couldn't help but splurge on a stinking cute new diaper bag of my very own. I love it! Jake thinks it's too girly to which I respond, "That's why it's my diaper bag. We can get you a backpack of your own for when you have to carry the baby." He agreed that this sounded like a good plan. I still have to wait three more months to use it, but I really hope that time just flies by. I'm getting anxious to have everything in place and meet my baby girl!!
