The fact that I'm a girl should justify the fact that sometimes I'm kind of pathetic, but I don't think it's because I'm a girl that I frequently am that way. Mostly I really am kind of pathetic simply because my name is Camille and that's just the way I am some days.
Ok, so here's the story. Once upon a time I met a boy named Max who is GORGEOUS! Seriously, he's one attractive male. So I met him in church when his mom introduced us. It could have been more awkward, but not by much. Two days later we went on a date had a nice time, even though it was a short date. Then I went to San Diego and he left Cache Valley for Cedar City, so the chances of really getting to know him were super slim. Lady Luck was on my side, however, and on my way home from San Diego we stopped in St. George and spent the night. Cedar is only 40 min north of St. George and guess who was willing to make that drive to see me? If you guessed Max, you guessed right and get ten points. Our second date was better than the first and we had a ton of fun playing Lake Powell family games for a good majority of the evening. He was so great with my parents and grandparents! He was a good sport, patient, a gentleman, and just over all great. We even kept exchanging glances that said, "You're pretty awesome and I think I'm really in to you." I haven't had a guy look at me like that in a loooonnnnggg time. So my heart melted a little bit. 12:40 rolled around and we decided he should probably go since he had a long drive ahead of him. I'll admit that as he walked to his car I shamelessly watched him walk away.
Now, two weeks later I just keep wishing that he lived closer and that I could see him more often. I really want to get to know him better. But he doesn't and I'm stuck thinking about him a lot instead of actually talking to him. Do I plan out how our next conversation will go? Yes. Do I make up a scenario in my head in which we get to laugh together and talk for hours? Yes. Do I feel pathetic because I do those things even if there is a huge chance it won't work out? You betcha. Why does being a girl have to be so hard? Please tell me I'm not the only girl who over thinks things and impatiently waits for something great to happen.
My goal really is to be more balanced and think about stuff like that less. I guess I'll just have to keep working on it.
