Day 12

I have a blog because I love to talk about myself, and this is my excuse to do so all the time. I generally aim to be less self focused when I talk to people in real life (I fail miserably), but here it can be all about me. I actually started a blog after seeing my sister's. She lived in Philly at the time so it was nice to see what she was doing. I moved down to Snow College and decided my family could keep tabs on me the same way. It's been almost two and a half years since I started blogging. Crazy!! That time flew right by. So yes, my motives for blogging are mostly selfish, but at the same time I really like seeing what is happening in other people's lives and this is a great place to keep it all organized. Oh the world of blogging.

Day 11

So this group of friends are my best friends from Philly. It's been awhile since I've spent time with them, but they are the ones who made my Philly experience so worthwhile. Love you guys!

These guys are my Alaskan men. Curt in the middle and Justin on the right. They both taught me so much this summer.

Natalie, Phillip and Jessica. The best friends of my younger days. It's amazing how best friends stay with you over the years, no matter what. I've known Phil since I was two, Jess since I was five and Nat since I was 12. And I know I can still rely on them for anything.

Sam Weiss (the hobbit). He has been my greatest friend in Logan since I first moved to Cache Valley. We've had many an adventure and many the crazy moment. Oh Sam. Our friendship became more profound over the summer. He lived in Missouri while I was in Alaska and we had some really meaningful conversations during the time apart. He is someone I respect deeply and care about with all my heart.

MO! Best friend from high school. She's been such an incredible blessing in my life. She has been with me through some of the toughest stuff and the funniest moments. She is someone on whom I can rely for anything, no matter what. She loves me, supports me and never judges me. She is truly my absolute best friend through everything. I am so incredibly sad that she lives five hours away.

Jessica and Chantelle. Best friends after high school until now. We do some pretty crazy things together, and I love it! We never have a dull moment and we're always finding new, fun things to do. When we see each other, we act like it's been years even if it's only been a week. These girls have taught me so much about life, makeup, hair, love and loyalty.

Day 10

I love music. First of all, let me just get that off my chest. The only problem is that I don't really pay attention to artists or song titles so I just listen to the radio, hoping that the songs I love so much will eventually come on. However, I do have a list of songs that I absolutely love.

When I'm happy:
Jump Rope- Blue October

When I'm feeling spiritually low:
Love Me- JJ Heller

When I'm feeling cute and romantic:
Out of My League- Stephan Speaks

When I want to happy dance:
Waka Waka (english)- Shakira

When I want to dance crazy-
Telephone- Lady Gaga, I Gotta Feeling- Black Eyed Peas

When I want to listen to an upbeat song:
Firework- Katy Perry

When I want something soft:
Smash Into You- Beyonce

When I want some country:
Anything Sugarland or Keith Urban or Brad Paisley or Josh Turner

When I want some showtunes:
Jekyll and Hyde, Scarlet Pimpernell, and Superboy and the Invisible Girl- Next to Normal

And it just goes on from there. But to suffice for now, these are my most current favorites.

Day 9

I am proud of the fact that today I was able to be patient with the kids I taught skiing. You see, it was a pretty rough day today. I had a couple of kids who couldn't grasp how to control their skis, and in the same groups kids who were the ones who could ski splendidly. So it took a lot of patience to not just give up on the ones who couldn't get it. And I'm glad that I was able to finish the lessons with my sanity intact.

Day 8

My short term goals for the month are indeed, very short term considering that the month ends in a few short days. But mostly, my goals as of late include finishing many personal progress experiences (currently Diving Nature), work on becoming a better teacher, getting back into exercising regularly and being a little more family oriented. So hopefully throughout January, I can continue to work on these goals.

Day 7

I know it may seem cliche, but the temple has always been so important to me. It means the world to me, and always makes me feel better, no matter the situation.

Day 6

My favorite superhero is Supergirl. First of all, she's gifted. Second, she isn't any bodies sidekick, she helps people out and does her own thing. And even though she has some issues sometimes, she always comes back to the good side.

Lights

This year for the lights, I had the chance to go down with Brent. It was really fun. We went to the Gateway to do some shopping, saw Tron, then went to Temple Square. I love seeing the lights every year! They are so gorgeous, and this year wasn't any different. I didn't take pictures of the lights, but I did get some pictures of us.

Day 5

Sitka, AK

Day 4

A habit I wish I didn't have is: I tense my jaw a lot, and I'm always stressing it and moving it. I wish I could just have a calm face all the time instead of making funny faces by accident.

Day 3

Day 2

I decided on my blog name because it was on a picture frame I had made. I took the picture frame idea from my sister. The frame had words clipped from magazines that I thought were inspiring and described me. One of the phrases was Boundless Blue Skies. I really liked it, because to me it means all the possibilities were limitless and anything can happen in my life. It's proved to be true. I've done so many things with my life and have had incredible opportunities.

Day 1

1. I'm a ski instructor
2. I've been a kayak tour guide in Alaska
3. I have random red highlights in my hair that holds any red dye longer than brown or blonde
4. I know how to pull a boat trailer, and drive said boat
5. I can drive a manual

Then he wanted me to climb the rope. I had tried before, but I was embarrassed so I didn't finish. This time, I totally got to the top! I feel so powerful now. Woot! I could be a fireman!

Officially A Ski Bum

Yup, it's true. I get paid to ski and I love it!! I'm now a ski instructor at the Beav. I need to shadow one more class then I can start teaching for real and making money... well, some money.... money that will only go back into the industry with new boots, or goggles. But that's all beside the point. The point is I get to ski for free with really good instructors who love to teach me how to be a better skier. And this year we've had some really great snow on our little mountain. This has been the year of awesome jobs, and I'm so thankful that I get to have such cool experiences.

Patience

They say it's a virtue. One I don't have, but have been working very hard on obtaining for the past 20 years of my life. Some days I feel I haven't made any progress at all. Here's the situation. I have a beloved member of my family who happens to be a teenager. I should keep that in mind always, but I frequently forget. Anyway, said beloved family member doesn't like to listen to my mom. Or my dad. Or me. Or anyone... ever (yes, this is exaggerated but it's how I feel and this is my blog so I'm going to exaggerate). Frankly, it drives me insane!! Why can't this teen just do something other than play computer games all day?! Why not read a book? Or do something productive? And why, for the life of you, can you not simply help instead of always complaining?!?!?! Gads! I just want to smack said person upside the head all the time. Now, I know at this point all the adults in my life are shaking their heads, thinking to themselves, "Camille, you weren't exactly the perfect child. You were quite the pill and quite the challenge. Yes, you had your moments (or years) where you were just as bad." Let me say to all you adults that I know this. But because I've gained sooo much wisdom in the past five years, I know that it's better to be a little nicer. And it makes being patient with said beloved family member very very very very very... did I mention very? hard!!! I have this secret hope that this person will not be quite so difficult in two years when I come home from my mission. And that I can entirely skip this phase. Here's hoping.

Anyway, I'm not perfect. Neither is this family member. I'm sure I've trained this individual well on the art of teenage surliness. And now I regret that very much. I just need to keep praying and working on it. Hopefully the patience I need to successfully and lovingly handle this person will come. Right? That's how it works, isn't it? We each have our personal challenges. This is mine. Oh brother, this is going to be quite the refining experience.
